White Dwarf
A Diamond In The Rough
Tenacious light
How fervently you persuade the dark
to lull inside your wondrous arms
You have sipped upon the brim of existence
A pin prick amongst a vast ocean of black
Relentless in your endeavour
To savour the flavour of life
With your steadfast imprint
of your ceaseless light

Isn't it all fascinating Gwen...why does all that beauty exist when apparently nobody but our species is aware and we haven't even scratched the surface and never will. Anything to do with the cosmos really puts a perspective on things doesn't it?..after Judd I watched ...The Planets...on a loop for well over a year...it comforted me..the thought that there must be something more than ourselves responsible for all that hugeness to exist. Stunning write xx
I am obsessed with space too. I am totally addicted to following the James Webb telescope at the moment. Just incredible what it is finding out. They say it’s throwing physics on its head lol. We are always so shocked to realise we haven’t quite got something right. We forget that just maybe comprehending the universe might be beyond our scope as it’s intricately infinitely vast. Thanks my friend for you fab comment, I am glad you found comfort in your findings, it does help to poke the universe for such things ❤️ xx

Truly a beacon of hope that all shall one be seen, I wanted to become an astrophysicist when I was about eight years old (gulp, 55 years ago🤣). Alas I suck at math... So, I put out the little dwarf poems to see if someone reads them, not wanting all the fuss of being a public poet. These kinds of beacons help hugely (and actually, I got an email that a Dutch counselor wanted to use one of my (Dutch) poems in her latest book, found by a web search she did (she made my day🤣📖). The same way I found your stars❤️). Do keep writing, please please

Hi John, always so lovely to see you on cosmo 😃 thank you for your kind words on my poem. Yes I love science. My father was very much a philosopher and science brain kind of guy. I guess some has rubbed off on me. Keeps him close, so I don’t mind. Congrats on being placed in someone’s book. You must give me the name should you find out. I don’t care if it’s in Dutch, I have poetry books of different languages. Would love to have a book with your poem in added to my collection. Glad you had an extra positive day. May your year be filled with more such days ahead xx
Hi, Gwen, yes I understand how you would want your dad close by, mine was less of a succes, but he fired up the love for the universe ansd languages in me, so here's me being gratefull for that. The book is going to be a therapy book 'against' a bore-out (doing a job far below your education and capacity will cause that) - one of my poems (myosotis - apparently I did not translate it from Dutch (yet) it is not on here) fit that from a different perspective, for the last lines contain a reference to the name of her therapy centre ("ereprijs" Veronica chamaedrys - which in Dutch also means the price you got because you did something with honour, but not "first place"). When it becomes availbale, I'll let you know...

I came up with the first line thinking of our white dwarf and my wife added the second.. The rest is me again🤣🌟
