Who

Who

Who do you see from day to day?
Who takes the time to detour your way?
Who is your soulmate, your rock, your friend?
Who's natural instinct, is you, to defend?
Who sees the truth, despite what you say?
Who knows the reason your games, you play?
Who has your back through trouble, through strife?
Who'd gladly trade in their soul for your life?
Is there such thing as a true altruistΒ
Or is it just tricks to make your mind twist?
Why does the one I need here the most,
Have the loudest of voices when needing to boast?
Of how much they care and the depth of their love,
A 'true' understanding! Themselves, placed above.
Yet when they are faced with more options, more fun,
Suddenly, then, it is time they must run!
My faith dissipates as I shoulder my struggle,
Surely support shouldn't mean that you juggle?
Priorities jostling to push me away,
But anger if I find the courage to say.
So your words are just platitudes bandied about,
When I see in your eyes, your impatience, your doubt,
And never before have I felt so alone,
Than when I discovered, your heart's made of stone.

Thanks so much Tony. I wrote this about 6 months after being diagnosed with 'Sid'. It wasn't aimed at anybody specific, but a generic stab at those who were so full of concern at the start but lost interest when they realised it wasn't a short term problem and I wasn't going to suddenly 'get better'.
I wrote it for the A.N. site I'm on and had totally forgotten about it until another member re-posted it lol. I had actually headed the post with...."In a particularly melancholy mood tonight.".....Spooky huh? Mwahahaha!!!
Glad you enjoyed and thanks for your great feedback, as always!xox
