Who Am I
Who am I
The florescent light guiding young minds to poverty and discrimination, against my better judgment I applaud and watch, in awe of the radiant power and nerve of man
Who am I
But a simple thought put together by isolation of the mentality undergoing destruction,...the evaluation of my mind another soul could never understand
Who am I
The temptest, alluding the advances of every otherworldly pursuer, sitting and waiting for a chance to capture the pure essence I naturally radiant
Who am I
I am everything yet nothing in a world of fantasy.. Reality is hanging by a rope around its neck, reality hunted and burned.. For whoever sees the truth is not needed
Who am I
A realist, daughter, friend, unnecessary waste of space, purity, life itself, chosen, but really I ask the question everyday in the mirror...Who am I?

This is great.
This poem made me feel the writer has more self awareness from questioning their identity than most seem to have who feel they just are who they are.
very thought provokingÂ
I look in the mirror and ask myself the same kinds of questions you've presented us with here in your contemplative contemporary poem, Dezzy.
Who am I—what is my purpose for being here?
I've come to the conclusion that I may never know the answer, but that's okay.
If we like ourselves for who we are then that is enough.
Well penned...food for thought indeed.

Thanks for the feedback, we live in a world where we become comfortable in believing acceptance is key. Where we are told to be, I believe we are absolutely nothing. Yet, everything beyond what we imagine.
