Who am I

Who am I?
Who am I if I’ve got nothing to show,
Besides the degrees with my name on and the pictures I had to pose?
Who am I if I can't face myself in the mirror,
Besides the photos I take, I delete immediately as self-pity stirs up?
Who am I if I measure myself against everyone else,
Besides the person I really am the big word the “self”
Who am I if I always remember regrets,
Besides the accomplishments and courage I presented throughout my life despite the challenges/ tests?
Who am I without a smile or strength?
Am I supposed to facade this mask or front in one appearance or breath?
Who am I?
I've got difficulty exploring the “I”.
If I disappear, will you remember my existance even if I am shy?

Hey, Carinne, I love how this poem reads, very personal, but also serving as a bridge for conversation with the reader, so perfectly thought out, very relatable expressive and honest throughout; hard to pull off....not using flowery language and imagery to hide behind, asking the question few take the time to ask, or are brave enough to ask....a really compelling piece of poetry you've written here, my friend this is good with a capital G, outstanding writing...cheers
