Why?

Why?

This road can seem so long
Tedious in the extreme
And as I walk I wonder
What’s the overarching theme?

My friends can see their ways
Before them set in stone
But my way here is shrouded
With heights and depths unknown

I wonder why it’s so hard
To find your way in life
There’s open doors for others
While my seems deprived

I don’t understand it all
And once again I sigh
And again I’m on my knees
And pleading the question “why?”

I know that God is wiser
Than any mortal man
He has my best in mind
In fulfillment of His plan

The journey here will show
As the way with Him we trod
His loving, patient teaching
And the faithfulness of God

When this life’s quest is over
And the tapestry complete
We’ll be at the journey’s end
And before the Mercy Seat

Then this will all make sense
When there we have arrived
And when we see it all together
We’ll no longer ask Him “why?”

Wow, thanks so much! This was my first real poem I attempted, and my love for poetry grew from here. It means a lot to me that my work is appreciated! Thanks again!
