Poem -

Why Me.

Why Me.

The moonlight falls

Softly like rain

Into our bedroom window.

The haven you made

for this very ordinary man.

I look in its silver light

At your sleeping beauty

Far above the deserves

of me.

I know I am not the pick

You could have chosen.

Such beauty is pristine

For Gods not for such as I.

You tell me there were

Other imposters before me.

You acted out the dance of love

In choreographed movements.

But I made you laugh

And feel beautiful

Through all your changing moods.

I do not know how.

But you tell me

When the evening shadows

Fall into darkness

It is always you honey.

Only you know how to fix me.

And I thank my stars for you.
