Poem -

Why not you?

I've asked for the kindness of strangers,

Yet I'm the only stranger whose hand I can control,

I've asked for the love of another,

Yet my heart is the only one I can bestow,

I've begged for the mercy of man,

Yet my deeds are mine to unfold,

I've cried for your tears of forgiveness,

Yet my sins were against my code,

So today only I can carve in this stone,

I'll be the kindness to those strangers,

My hands gentle not cold,

I'll love all others,

My hearts to warm to be kept alone,

I'll give mercy to all men,

Who am I to judge the deeds they stand before,

I'll forgive all sins,

While I wipe their eyes no tears will hit the floor,

In the hopes that one day,

Maybe you can inspire the world
