Why now

Why does it take someone tragedy and their family’s worst day have to make us realise the danger women today face 
Why now that someone has passed the pearly white gates does it make those in power switch on 

Why oh why did it take this girls simple journey home to make society realise that the steets can be an unsafe place to be a women
Why now are people only just opening their eyes to what a lot of women face every day 

Why only in the last week are people realising what happens on our streets and why sometimes women feel insecure about waking alone 
Why now,is only because someone died and the issue is finally get media attention because that’s what I think
