WHY SHOULD I

WHY SHOULD I

Surely there are those
Whom our lives will touch
But not for everyone
Will this matter much

I do not know whose life
I've changed, nor how, or why
But, I hope that I accomplish
Such a feat, before I die

Alas, my feeble non attempts
Do my endeavors me belie
For my malaise, of mankind's woes
Only means, I do not try

I look around, and see the same in others
Self interest only, without an outcry
So, I carry on the status quo and ask
If you don't, then why should I
