The Widow

A woman scorned, dutifully mourned -

the untimely departure of her life partner.

Black was her dress and black was her mood...

recalling his passing ,as berieved widows would.

Good grief! Her mind so fatigued...

Yet the movie stayed on repeat.

Died in an act of passion - what the hell was that?

Rising hysterical giggles while in pain she sat.

Playing... the movie in her mind featuring the Dead,

Showing his succumbing to a heart attack.

Stranger yet-the brutal final impact!

Betrayal...,his last breath was spent -

In bed , with her best friend.

Numb, akin to a corpse, still she did attend

to the pressing matters at hand;

Will and testament, the Cheat's lewd wish was sure -

The sale of his sportscar,-all proceeds to his whore!

A woman of conscience, our widow abided

Settled and mailed to where the harlot resided.

Concluded the remains of deceased to medical science -

At last less agrieved...her troubles layed at peace,

The unfortunate woman scorned..,

found that she no longer mourned.

In the local Classifieds,- an unbelievable Ad:

"Ferrari for sale!One-time Bargain!Pricing totally MAD!!!"

Then a parcel received, bringing no solace -

Inside was a cheque for a Hundred Dollars...,

A note:"Something else,I'm sure he'd want you to have,

wrapped up in gauze , I've had it prepared.

Ring his bell now anytime - night or day...,

Without me ever again having to pay!"
