Will Love Withstand Our Growth

Will Love Withstand Our Growth

We live in between the breath of a handshake
I’m left withering for more,
Wanting to go back to the other way
I lay hoping if I only reveal an eighth of myself
Will it be enough for yourself?
Will you hold me the way I crave for myself?
We live in the middle of a breath,
You make me catch one,
we’ve seen each other forever,
We’ve been sick of each other,
And yet after letting go
You’re the only one I hoped for.
I’ve learned I’m just a joke for,
Yeah, I’m just a joke for you.
I smile in hope for you
Every success you’ve made
I’ve helped along the way
And now that you’re flying,
Do you realize I have chains on my feet?
These dreams I’ve wished for are now dreams I keep
I can remember the days
Oh how I remember the days
I need to grow but these roots are tightly bound,
Upon this cold and solid ground.
I can’t imagine another,
But you never miss me so,
The way I miss you so,
I contain myself for a hope that you’ll miss me so.
You’ve saved me from plucking my feather,
Baby we’re flocking together,
And not an Ill will I could wish upon
But every star I wish upon.
We crave for more,
With grace we’ve always known
Our young paths diverge,
Does this garden even know?
How shall it grow from here?
With different dreams in our palms,
I know it’ll emerge..yet
I’m left holding onto strings that have yet to unfold
This song is delayed and I’m picking at strings,
Do you see what I see?
This painting is revealing itself,
Yet I recognize no stroke.
I’ve had to re-memorize my reflection,
and adapt it to the heartbreak.
You’ve had a stake,
and I’m left following your perception.
I live my days as if I’m remembering the past
Do you see what I see?
You want North, I want south.
I slip into a paradise,
But you love cold and I hot,
We gave all we have
We always have known
our wishes diverge
Can we emerge,
as one?
For me, it’s all or none.
We live in between an I love you
Three kisses true,
Perfect for each other,
Yet so much between,
No bottle could I wean
It’s you and me,
Until it isn’t.
