Windmill

Once there were many
Integral part of rural life
The Miller and his mill
Who did the equivalent with wheat
Of turning water into wine .
The harvest was delivered
The huge sails turned
Dancing to the tunes of wind plains
Crucial cog in the food chain
The Windmill deserves its page
In the annals of rural history .

A lively tribute poem to windmills. They are rather special aren't they?
Whatever happened to the beauty of the past Chris? Seems to me as the graft is just as hard for the working population we might at least have the beauty to look at ...instead of modern ugliness 😑x
You mean they no longer use windmills? I enjoyed reading your depictions in poetic recollection. Kudos!
