Windows To The Soul

The eyes are the windows to the soul
An old saying that is still so true
The love they show cannot be mistaken
Glistening like the morning dew

Like starlight in the midnight heavens
Shimmering from a light within
Of love so pure so deep and everlasting
Radiating when passion begins

Other signs are not quite so apparent
Hidden in one's own psyche
Little things can sometimes go unnoticed
Unless love's powers are mighty

When the game of new love moves on
And becomes a lifelong affair
Of joy, of trust, of total commitment
That only true lovers can share

Eyes can't hide the deep passion inside
Shining forth in a light so intense
The world waits patiently in the shadows
For the love and joy to commence
