Wine, Women And Song

In my single days when I partied, before “you” came along;
There were three things that meant the most to me; they were “the wine, women and song”!
Sometimes the wine, sometimes the booze, to get me in the mood;
For forgetting my proprieties, and doing things that were so lewd!
In the morning I would wake up, with a head had split in two;
I’d feel the earth’s rotation; say “What the hell did I ever do?”!
Sometimes there’d be a strangers’ face, lying next to me in bed;
She’d look over and she’d say, “Don’t worry, you’ve nothing today to dread”!
For all we did was to fall asleep, or rather both pass out;
For the both of us were way too drunk, to ever “twist and shout”!
I’d breathe a sigh of great relief, as she got dressed and said goodbye;
And I’d always say “Never again”, but of course, back to the clubs then I would fly!
But then one night my whole life changed, for an angel came my way;
And we fell in love at our first sight, and she’s never gone away!
Now I’ve curbed the wine and sing the songs, to just one woman every night;
The soulmate that God sent down to me; that made everything go right!
