Poem -

Winning Hand

Winning Hand

Often
I just
want to
drift away

Be put into
a medicated
state
and just
fall into
the clouds

My reality
is so
hard
to experience
lately

Yet instead
of taking
a drink
smoking a bud
popping pills
or using
a needle

I face my
life
head on

Maybe
it is the
Narcotic
called
Hope
that allows
me to
carry
on

or

Maybe a primitive
source
of courage
that makes
me awake
to what is
around me

I think it is
a little
bit of
both

The storm
will calm
NOW
will be
a distant
memory
as the
wheel of
time
slowly
spins

I think
I will
wait
it out
because
it is inevitable
that sooner
or later
I will be
given a winning
hand
at the
table
called
life

Hi Greg....I love the honesty of this!  You have the right attitude, my friend.  There is always hope around the corner.....Drugs, alcohol, or any numbing agent does more bad than good in difficult situations...I believe it is best to keep eyes open, stay alert and aware, and face problems head on.....getting through them, as painful as they are, to receive the benefit of seeing the life rope offered after the storm....Life is unpredictable and unfair for sure!  Honest write.  I respect your determination voiced here.  xo ;)

Thanks Greg thanks for making me aware that you, in some way managed to subliminally hacked into my mind ....

Please know that I am going to give your Guru a drunk ride when I find him.

So you Cherie and Tony are drinking the same freaking herbal tea now huh!

My Dear Friend Greg,

Sometimes, life's dealer
Can be running very hot
But if you stick with him long enough
You'll win several future pots

Love,
Larry xxx
