Winter

Winter

Bitter cold she'll blow.
Too frigid for snow
Frozen tis heart of ice
Stilled waters pay price

Keeper of seasons past
After autumn sighs her last
Icy breaths in vain
Only smoke will remain

Deity bitter cold
Her malice foretold
Nary cross this lass
Glacial victims amass

In castle made of ice
She rules with iron vise
Within solstice of wintertime
Awaiting spring to chime

there's scant little more appealing than awaiting on Spring to chime .. and knowing its only just round the corner :)Β
