Winter Bird

Winter Bird

Oh winter bird
so stoic and strong
perched on a frozen branch
why do you stay and face the
cold of winter’s blizzard
biting blast?

Never seeking warmer
climbs, just accepting
what you have.
Soon enough the
spring will come
and fill your heart
with glad.

I feel your lesson
is clear for all who
pause to ponder thought.
All things change in
better ways if you
accept those frozen days.
