Christmas Snow

Christmas Snow
The autumn leaves have long since fallen
I listen to the winter wind to hear love calling
With the winter winds comes the Christmas snow
I leave my footprints but I have nowhere to go
I can only hope my love’s coming home for the holidays
May an angel’s light guide you upon your snowy way
My lonely heart is cold where icicles have grown
I need your love to shelter me from the storm
December’s breeze has placed a chill in the air
I find comfort imagining that you are there
From far beneath the bitter cold snow
I planted a seed of love I hope will grow
Our Christmas tree is all decorated with pride
Upon a horse drawn sleigh we could ride
This season’s coloured lights are shining so bright
You’re in my dreams in the still of the winter’s night
The best gift you could give to me is your heart
Because right now we are miles and miles apart
Wrap me the love in your heart and give it as a gift
It would surely gift my somber spirits a loving lift
A welcoming wreath graces our front door
You in my arms, I couldn’t ask for more
Christmas day should be filled with hope and love
The blessed angel atop our tree watches from above
For Christmas is the one time of the year
We pray for hope and a promising new year
