Wishful Thinking

Wishful Thinking

At night you gently whisper
I feel your breath upon my neck
Your arm around my waist
Yet in the morning nothing

It is a dream, a remembrance, a memory

The day is long with torment
Blurring shapes, pedestrians on my street
I try to connect, make myself seen
Nothing… your soul remains silent

It is a nightmare, a flashback, a prick of pain

Starved for that flashing smile
As lonely is in this hell with me
You are gone to the grave
I still hear you whisper my name

It is a daydream, a fantasy, a wish

Yesterday is ash and shadow
Today is lingering rain and pain
Tomorrow is forgotten in sorrow
Shall a connection ever be regained

It is delirium, an escape, a coma

I will never see you again…

My Dear Rebecca,

What a powerful and beautifully written poem, illustrating the loss of one's beloved Soulmate.

My heart and Soul sob
For ne'er again I'll hold you
My life now empty

Love,
Larry xxx

Thank you so much Larry. :) Yes I've lost too very special people to me in the past three years and grief is lingering, but there is sunlight and laughter too. Hard to find when I write sometimes. Blessings dear friend.
