Witchdoctors

Witchdoctors

The poor child groaned

while his mother moaned

''Ah, he's possessed,

Oh, he's been bewitched'',

Superstition bemoaned.
To the witchdoctor she sped

and was back with murky potions

such yucky stinky lotions

Those mythical concoctions

The woman obeyed the wily witchdoctor

Placed belief in that traditional healer

and the poor child still groaned

but his mama no longer moaned

After two days of tribal treatment

and no lessening of predicament

she thought he needed something more potent

When all it turned out to be was a toothache dent!

But she would hear of no dentist

Like all quacks her witchdoctor

had fooled her five senses

For his spells and his chants

held her too in a trance

Quite a weird weirdo is he

Beware the medicine- man!

That devious cunning shaman

Beware that vodoo magic and witchcraft

That so survive on the gullible and the daft.

Yet I was warned to be wary of pharmaceuticals too

They too can be harmful chemicals in the long run for you

The " hoodoo " of Voodoo, transports itself, across cultures. You, must understand herbal remedies to make life better, but, you must not fall prey to devious diversions from " The Straight Path " !! With, all that gives to you. Know how to get more out of this world, without succumbing to fear. Or, worse still, to dangers. Warn others of who does not have any interest at heart, and, just wants to take, for their own selfish ends.
Remember, sound advice, on how to enhance your experiences, and, not detract from them. Know, what can be gained from best policy, and, all which is lost by adhering to principles, to cajole, you, into doing what you do not want to. That, which makes natural instincts, to let you remain separated from life-threatening savage intent. Aimed at robbing you of the best of life.
EXPERIENCE, AND EXPERTISE, GIVES TO YOU. Not those pretending to be someone, or something, they are not.

Hi , hmm thanks for your fine long comment, some interesting some very confusing what you say. How can a straight path have devious diversions for instance? It wouldn't be a straight path if it were devious. I don't succumb to fear unless it is a genuine thing fearing of which is good and beneficial, like for example fearing a lion is a good thing, I don't approve of those foolhardy reckless people both in the west and Dubai who don't fear lions but rather pet them, saw some poor westerners mauled due to lack of such a fear ah.
As for principles I believe we should follow good principles in life or we suffer badly and we should do things beneficial for us even if we don't want to, like for example I don't want to eat veggies neither do any of my kids but for health sake we have to cut down on meat consumption and eat them ah.
I wish you could be clearer on what you think could rob me from the best of life, experience etc.
so thanks soo much for comment but I hope you could elaborate more.
