With You in It

With You in It

I thought I saw you at the store
You are a big man is that your face
Is that your beard
I am your mother so I should know

How far you can tear apart your heart

Would you say hi
Would you hug meΒ
Would I be able to stand as you pass me by
Or would I do the thing for which you dislike me
Cry

Let’s begin at the endingΒ
Of your body inside mine
No one and everyone knows the wonder

Of living a life I have always always known
Your motherΒ
and how it seems forever
And now you are grown and
Gone

I was relieved it was not you in the store
No contact as you like it
Your heart has moved on to some serious winter

But I know the secret
We are all connected

And I still live in a world
With you in it
