Within an Incubus

Within an Incubus

The ones around me seem to thrive on the pain.

In vain I try to rise above the odious only to be cast aside.

Where empathy is a weakness and intelligence is ignorance

The seemingly munificent have motives unseen.

I walk through this manifold of malevolence, a rebel amongst iniquity when the answer to all is violence.

I do not belong to this place. Here, who am I but a stranger to all?

Just another face;

Solemn among the complacent swine who feed on the destruction of all that is ethereal.

It is to this incubus I am fettered.

Only for now,

And never forever ~Garrett Doan-

Thank you. For taking the time to read it and for the compliment as well. I just started writing so it means a lot
