Without sacrifice
there cannot be love
you saw your Calvary,
walking with Christ
in living hell
you shone humanity.
Immaculate knight
your mission true
among eternal fear,
a life to give
for fellow man
to show that Christ is near.
Through your pain
through your toil
your spirit never ceased,
words of comfort
to condemned
from this humble priest.
Though evil's shroud
was cast around
you gave the gift of hope,
with meaning gone
among walking dead
finding strength to cope.
Though flesh may die
you taught salvation
bequeathed from above,
our bones will perish
but in sacrifice
we find what we call love.
