Witty Salesman

They erect promises, big ones to entice our funding.
They select topics, big ones to entice our votes.
They get elected, big titles to make trusted decisions.

They regret promises, big ones they will break. 
They forget topics, big ones they swore were of importance.
They get elected, big lies and hidden agendas, it all was fake.

Mistake after mistake, we continue to elect candidates this way.
Picking the lesser of evils, or so we say.
When did it become so hard to just be honest?
We keep electing liars hoping for good change.
