Words to the 'Prophet'

Prophet, I remember
The last time I saw your face
It left with me a lasting impression
Red sullen and covered in perspiration
Righteous indignation was your search light
To shine on the wayward and expose the fallen
I was sitting in the front row of repentant sinners
Thinking to myself; who the hell am I to judge you?
Even though your wickedness falls like rain
It’s still not my place to send you to hell;
To burn in that fire.
Prophet,
I refuse to put my own soul in peril
The truth will find you out one day
That I know for certain
But please do me the honor and
put away your new black shoes;
Start wearing the dirty sandals
Listening to your hollow soliloquy
Is like finding an empty wallet
And I'm broke and hungry

Hey Curtis, That is some of the best venting I've heard in a long time. It's an amazing pen you're wielding there my friend. when you got to "put away your black shoes" I knew you had me. Another great write from the house of Longstreet........well done my friend.......tony :)
A very passionate feel, such high respects, obtaining simple sadness upon actions, and broken responsibilities, with new shiny shoes comes changes often, hypocritical actions, love these lines sweetie,

Wow Curtis,
I tend to second the sentiments of Tony when it applies to the strong I call you out attitude, with the top dog above but he's not who he,(God), is for no reason and realize, everybody has a breaking point and Curt felt his bending, to a point of no return but he,(Curt) steadfast his ground and got his concerns off of his chest...Everybody is entitled to their (15) minutes of fame and today was Curtis day for center stage and boy did he truly steal the spot on center stage and light today, he and this powerful land mine he has laid of a poem to we his readers.......Curt you amaze me and at the same time, intoxicate us all, with your fire stoker of a poem.... Remain you, always my friend; it truly works for you and for us as well, rock on partner, rock on……

Jim
