For the World

~How special it will be
When the earth breathes as one
It must be believed to be seen
A world where hate is gone

Where a mate is forever
And your neighbor is your friend
As hand in hand you discover
No true love need ever end

Where laughter is not a luxury
For only the rich and the safe
But an equally shared commodity
For every person in every place

Where smiles are given freely
And that is the currency of the day
Where no child lay down hungry
But in peaceful slumber lay

Where fear is crushed and buried
With no substance anymore
And all the baggage that we carry
Is set adrift upon the shore

When painful memories are forever erased
And the hearts of the abused finally have peace
When everything dark has been replaced
By resplendent light, joy and release

When I can see you looking at me
And you know the past has finally set free
Shoulder to shoulder along with our daughter
We rebuild and regain by serving our Father
