Yesterdays’ Tomorrows

Yesterdays’ tomorrows have all slipped away; they’re gone and can never be;

Because on this day, the worst of my life, ill fate has stolen you from me!

My dreams of tomorrow have all disappeared, replaced with this nightmare of now;

That I have to kiss my soulmate goodbye, and no longer can them, I endow!

Never again can I lay by your side, and ingest the aromas of you;

Then kiss your sweet lips and move to your ear, and whisper “I truly love you”!

Never again can our hearts mate as one, with passions of sated desires;

And travel the stars to ecstasies ends, with the sun igniting our fires!

It happened so quickly, no time did I have, for this horrible day to prepare;

For in the morning you still walked the earth, but by nighttime you were no longer there!

Taken so quickly by the twist of our fate, I thought we had so many more years;

But in just one instant you were gone from me, the sum of all of my fears!

So yesterdays’ tomorrows have all faded away, for without you they cannot exist;

I don’t know for sure if even “I” can, for without you I’ll merely subsist!

I’ve lost my dear soulmate, the love of my life, and with you tomorrows went too;

With my heart torn in shreds, dripping blood soakened tears, I contemplate coming to you!
