Poem -
Yet Still
We wandered through the umbrous lanes,
my lonely thoughts and I,
and caught the breeze through leafless trees,
yet ...stillĀ the worldĀ goes by.
All thoughts now silent in my head
Ā I hear them gently try,
to clear the shadow over me
yet...still the world goes by.
You took my love, you held my heart
You never saw me cry,
theseĀ trinkets lost within your smile,
yet... still the world goes by
Awake from bitter dreams Ā
to call a name no longer there.
My pride no longer lets me try
to show thatĀ I donāt care.
The sunshine in my world is now eclipsedĀ
by darkened sky,
I wait forlorn to see the dawn
Yet....still the world goes by
Ā

Thank you so much Nigel..I do seem to be going through my own 'Blue period' in poetry terms! Sometimes its cathartic to dig deep into emotions butĀ I think my next offering will have to be less melancholic and more jolly jollic! xx
