You

You

You held me on a pedestal,
High above the ground,
I didn’t dare jump off,
I was scared to let you down.

You loved me for my face,
Before I was your friend,
I knew before you did,
Yet you caught me in the end.

You were selfish beyond compare,
There was no one else but you,
You could never love me,
There was never room for two.

You kept dragging me along,
Too scared to be alone,
Not only did you take my heart,
You took everything I own.
