Poem -

You from the "Donsongs: An Anthology of Literary Sound by D. Maurice Waddell

Nobody knows that I fall asleep thinking of you

Nobody knows how much I desire you

Or if I had my way

We would be on public display

And as we made love in front of everyone

People would view it as a beautiful scene

Nothing obscene

But a true sense of the Creator’s vision of how it is meant to be

A beautiful natural occurrence of the order of things,

But yet….Nobody knows when I’m close to you I have to remind my heart to beat

And repeat because you’re holding it in your hand

Nobody knows that my heart belongs to you

Nobody knows how much I look at your pictures everyday

You appear to me as a fairy tale

Waiting and anticipating happily ever after

Feeling your love, enjoying your laughter

Nobody knows how much I’d be willing to surrender to you

Nobody will ever know what I will show you if I ever enter you

Is it the Creator’s way of saying that this desire is not permitted?

Like David and Bathsheba? Or Like Water for Chocolate?

That you would become the Goddess I would worship?

Or jealous of the intensity which was put in me?

Nobody knows that I could write for a thousand lifetimes

And wouldn’t be able to explain what I feel for you

Nobody knows that I know you more than you know

And yet despite all…..In a heartbeat will give my love freely to you….
