You Don't Know . . . . . .

You Don't Know . . . . . .

What it's like when you can't do what you used to do,
walking in the sunshine under an azure sky so blue,
making love without inhibition, what we did me and you,
we remember, brings a smile and a golden rainbow too.

We were top of the leaderboard, another week gone by,
you knew it was good, when there was an audible sigh,
when you just floated thro' the air, turned head to stare,
as though uncatchable, resolute, without a single care.

What do you believe in - perhaps just going to nothing,
wouldn't it be nice to love again if God nicely let us in;
so many bad things now, so let's just think of the good,
Who said: 'I once had a girl,' remember 'Norwegian Wood.'

I've been luckier than you in shades of lovely indigo blue,
maybe most of your life, you laboured in a jaundiced view.
