Poem -

young love

I thought I had the answers to everything

I thought I loved you more than words could express

not realizing love was so much more

to young to understand the facts

even though love was so easy to say

I said it anyways

you didn't say them back

but it didn't matter to me

I had butterflies in my stomach

 every time you came near

it was like standing on top of a mountain

and no one could touch me

I was on an adventure

when end wasn't an option

no matter where we were

no matter what we doing

it was magical

and in a blink of an eye it all changed

it was that time of year when

the leaves started to change colour

and fell off the trees

 winter was on its way

and you had to go

my world came to an end

everywhere id go

every person id see

left a memory of us

a imprint of the summer

id never forget

with tearful goodbyes

I counted the days where spring would arrive

and it had

but you had not

not a letter

nor a sign

I stopped looking out the window

at every car  that would pass by

every phone call was never you on the other end

i realized that day love wasn't part of the equation

we were just two people traveling in the same direction.
