Your Christmas Gift

Sorry to inform you
But this year has been hard
Our bank account is empty
So your gift is this card

We bought for the kids
Not because we love them more
It's just, they're too young
To realize we're poor

This is not a joke
Though, we hope you find it funny
Enjoy the gift of laughter
Because it cost us no money

We love you both so much
We hold you both so dear
Sorry if you're disappointed
Better luck next year

Consider yourself lucky...you got the last one!  This is real life, funny to read about, but the pain of it's closeness to reality bites! Good job, Anthony

Thank you Susan & Anthony. I gave all of the couples in my family a Christmas card with this poem in it. It's been a rough year. They all loved it, though. I may not have money but at least I have a bit of talent & a good sense of humor to share.
