Your Day . . . . . .

Your Day . . . . . .

Today I spoke at my local Rotary Club as you do,
there was one architect, one doctor eating vindaloo,
I'd been invited by my erudite bald headed friends,
they said: 'Get it right or this is where friendship ends.'

Today I spoke at Round Table where they passed hats,
always doing collections, scurrying like benevolent rats,
so many good ideas tossed in the air as they hopped,
but ended up like so many catches just being dropped.

Today I spoke to the Masons who reluctantly let me in,
you wondered after a handshake if you'd committed a sin,
brother used to say: 'I don't know how you don't make a hole,
when using a compass,' never mind I said, it's an own goal.

Exhausted by all these so-called professional heavyweights,
I groaned when I just saw there was a call from Bill Gates.
