YOU'RE NOT A PRISONER OF THIS WAR
I'll listen intently
I'll listen to your heart
Sometimes, there aren't words to say
When you're breaking apart
I hear your heart beatingÂ
As it cries on my shoulderÂ
I'll hold it in silence
I'm just the beholder
Words are of little comfort
When you just need to be heardÂ
When you need to talk
Because feelings are stirred
I'll come sit with your pain
I'll quietly be there a while
I'll silently pray
I'll encourage and smile
And when you've finally been heard
And the tears are brushed awayÂ
I'll give you a long embrace
And it's then, I will say;
You're worth fighting for
Don't quit, don't give up
You're not a prisoner of this war

Gayle, was so lucky to find this and loved reading every word.
Not a word wasted or out of place in a your wonderful poem to elevate a flagging or down trodden human spirit.
Uplifting  and inspiring and your poem brimming, nay, overflowing with positivity.
Never give up, never capitulate to the world and any of life's negative interaction forces, for things change and those wheels may move slowly, but are travelling
in the right direction.
Full honours richly deserving for sharing your positive poem and respect to your good self for doing so.
