Zebidee & Marmalade

Zebidee & Marmalade

Zebidee & Marmalade
A peculiar mismatched pair
Zeb was bald with strands of blue
Whilst Marm had orange spikey hair

They lived amongst a hollow wood
Two homes made from oak stumps
It was so hard to get in them
Their heads were bruised with bumps

They lived so close together
So they often got confused
That they shared allΒ  items in each abode & everything well used

This made them very stinky
Coz they didnt like to wash
So people that passed by these stumps
Nipped their noses & said β€œOh Gosh”

β€œWhat is that wiff, what is that pong, whatever can it be
It is the most disgusting smellΒ
We think It must be foxes wee”

Well zebidee & Marmalade
They were never gonna change
The thought of cleaning up a mess
Did seem so very strange

So every morn they gave a yawn
& ate some bugs & fleas
They had a years supply hidΒ
In a closet in the trees

So any creepy crawly
That did land upon the ground
Was gobbled up so greedily
Whilst they ran & pranced around

They looked so strange & odd
They were so different from each other
Which was quite a marvel & surprise
They sharedΒ  the same small mother

There was a day I can recall
It was’nt long ago
I heard they got trapped in for weeks
Stumps covered up with snow

Till weather changed & snow did thaw
It melted just in time
Coz the muck & stench upon the floor was changing into slime

They were slipping & a-slidingΒ
Falling hard upon the floor
Poor Zeb crashed into Marm & made the two of them so sore

β€œOh Wo is me” they both did cry
This really is not funny
but then the two of them agreed the slime did taste like honey

Yum yum they licked & swallowed up the mess from on the floor
The slime was a delight
That they went out hunting for more

So if you go a-walking & you noticed two oak stumps
Just look inside if you are brave
You may find these curious lumps

Don’t be alarmed, don’t get a fright
Please do not even scream
The things that look the scariest
Are not always what they seem
