A guy becomes THE guy

About a year ago I wrote about a guy I was absolute best friends with. We ended up dating and broke up. He wasn't quite ready for a serious relationship. We remained very good friends. We later ended up taking classes together senior year. Everybody knew we would be together again soon. And they were right. In December re resumed our relationship. Prior to that he was with a terrible girl. She didnt appreciate him or love him. Always ignored him and made him feel terrible about himself. He then realized he was an idiot and I in fact was the only person he could think about being with forever. Now both times we dated I knew the Army was his future. Today I am a proud Army Fiancé to my absolute best friend. The man whom always checks on me. The one who managed to still tell me happy anniversary while away at basic training. The man I will go see graduate and be named an amaerican soldier. And i have never been more happy in my life. A guy I just thought would come and go through my life, has now come to stay and become my life. That's how "A guy became THE guy". And that's where I am now. Engaged to my high school sweet heart whom I walked across the stage with. The one who I will watch graduate again and again and rank up and continue to become an amazing man.
