A Mothers Love

There once was a girl named Nola. She was named after her dad Norman and her grandma Ola. They went to church ritually, studied the word religiously. Nola wasn't an only child, but she was the only one from the pile, that had been left with her grandma for a while. Mama had got sick, with something she couldn't lick, in a mad moment her heart stopped it's tick and she left us quick. Dad had no clue of what to do, mom had always taken care of the whole crew, there were five boys and the girls were two, the baby being Nola Rue. Dad says "he was about to flip his lid" so the first thing he did, was give away the youngest kid, and his mother won the bid. He dropped Nola off on a turbulent Tuesday morning at the crack of dawn. His mother was already up drinking coffee, singing a gospel song, when she saw him crossing the lawn. She rose to open the door, but said a prayer before, "oh Lord whom I do adore, please, let me never ignore, either of my children on the other side of this door, and when my strength is gone give me more, let my love always pour, outward-ly, like your blood you did shed for me.
