Amnesia: Recollection

I am a man. I am lost but I know where I am. I am deep within the confines of my mind. I am drifting along the sea of memories that I've collected over the years. I see an image pass me. Another! I do not recognize these images though. They seem faint and translucent. However, I know that they belong to me; my mind. I try to reach out and grab one but it only becomes harder to reach. It floats away until I can no longer see it. I am stuck. I am trapped here waiting to regain consciousness, but I am only waiting for the inevitable: Amnesia. I continue to float along and wait for what seems like years until I see a bright light. I sit up and look towards the light, squinting at what looks like an opening like at the end of a tunnel. I start to push myself toward the light and it becomes brighter. My eyes felt like they were burning but I kept going. I kept moving toward that bright light. Once I reached the end, I woke up in a panic, dripping with cold sweat. I looked around the and I was in a hospital room filled with doctors and a lady walked up to me. She looked at me with eyes filled with tears. I looked at her and could not recognize the face in front of me but somehow I knew that she was special. She wrapped her arms around me and held me tightly. I could feel her heart beat against my chest and I could tell that she was overwhelmed, but also quite happy. I continued to count the beats of her heart. I had heard these before. She was...kissing me, I believe. Yes.... It was our wedding day.... This woman was my wife. Suddenly, I began to remember things I had done with her. Our trip to the beach, watching her perform in plays, our honeymoon.... I know this woman. I've known her since the 7th grade. A sound interrupts my thought. I hear a voice; a child's voice. I looked out the doorway and saw a little girl. She wore a blue dress with a white bow and she was crying. She looked up at me and tears began to run down her face as she said this one powerful word to me: "Daddy!". I knew now what happened. I knew why I was lying in this hospital bed. My family and I were on our way to the camp grounds when our car hit something in the road and the car flipped, crashing into a tree. The girl ran up to me and hugged me tighter than I thought possible and I hugged her back. I didn't know these people. I remembered who they were but nothing about them. I know one thing though. I beat the first trial of Amnesia: Recollection.
