Angelica

She was beautiful like a night sky filled with stars. She walked into the room almost floating. She had magical eyes, like a doe’s eyes caught in headlights and that captured your attention. When she looked at you, it was like she was seeing right through you and into your soul. I had only spoken to her once, but that one time was enough for me to know that I was in love with her. I knew that I had to have her, that I needed her in my life like I needed oxygen. She looked like an angel from up above and I knew that she would save me. She would help me overcome these demons inside of me. I was daydreaming about my wonderful life with her when I saw a man approach her.

“Angelica,” he said. “Where have you been? I’ve been looking everywhere for you, my love. Our guest are waiting to congratulate us on our engagement!”

“Oh,” she said with a voice as soft as velvet. “I’m sorry, Sebastian. I just needed to get some fresh air. Being around all those people made me feel suffocated.”

“Oh honey, it’s okay. But come on inside its kind of chilly out here and you might catch a cold.”

“Okay,” she said as he was starting to pull her inside. She stopped. “I love you,” she said with a smile on her lips.

He kissed her saying, “I love you too sweetie.”

At that moment, I knew. I had to get her away from him. He was suffocating her. She had said it herself, and I knew I had to save her...

The next morning I sat in my car, waiting for her. She always woke up early Sunday mornings and went for a jog around 6:00 A.M. Today was not like every other day, because today, I had a plan that I was positive would work. I would follow her with my car, and after that, I would take her.

She walked out of her apartment building, wearing a light blue sports bra with black and neon green jogging shorts. She started jogging towards the park. I drove towards the most hidden part of the park. It was too early for anyone to be at the park except for a few joggers. I parked my car, got out and hid behind a big oak tree near the trail.
