Believe

Believe

Martha walked the street to have her usual treat. Its had become one of her favourite moments because it proved that she was a living being, alive and attractive.Yeah although she had to pay,the price was nothing compared to the warm smile and affection the candy men gave. Apart from the hurried goodbye kisses she gets from her dad and the sticky ones she gets from Barkley her dog, since she lost her mum and then her friends due to a new enviroment, everything seemed strange, different, unreachable,so distant yet close.

She had made it through the new girl in school phase but thanks to a shy nature and her dad so busy she couldn't have a friend to hold on to,couldn't through a party to make some, couldn't get more than the hellos and the goodbyes and may be neccessay conversations in practical class. All she wanted was to be apart. It was until she sit in her room glancing through her window to look at the stars, she realised. How can she be apart of something if she doesn't a part to play. She had been long for a friend, when she hadn't been one to her own self. She had contantly engaged her self to imagines and totally forgot to do the one thing that makes ever chance or decision worth it,losing or winning. Tears rolled down her soft cheeks.

She woke up on her chair today with a little smile of her face. She took a shower earlier and as she guessed she could spend more time with her Dad, they even fought over the last of omelettes which her made after such a long while. She kept doing that fro days and the best part that brought tears in her eyes was when he found an extra moment to tell her he loves her especially and his was happy she spent time with him today and asked her she could come up with a party plan, she deserved one. the kisses weren't hurried no more.

She went to school, hoping that that wasn't the only thing she had being doing right. She stated back to do her assignments that way she got to do more discussions with some firends and be for she knew it, she was having lunch with some of them at school and learning how to play the violin. The shy part of her wasn't being shy anymore but cautions of its actions and enviroment. She till want to the candy man's store but this time they affection was both ways, he was also glad to see her, told her she could pick a partime job if she wants whenever she's ready. She had plans for the party and luckily friends to helps, they sat in the candy man's shop for hours wishing, hoping and plotting.

And there it was, beautiful, filled with laughter and music. She never thought she could pull off a brilliant plan. There were pictures, new dance steps, crazy games, laughters, Everyone seemed to be having fun. After the party had setttled bit. She decided to go outside for air. Breathing in felt so pleasant. Then pink and red feathers, petals and decorations started raining on her,She turned around half shocked and half surpised filled with delight. He emerged from the dark with a smile. He was glad she liked it. He had over heard her and her friends in the candy man's shop and had been a fan of his place too. They got talking and later started dating.

They went to the beach for a pinic.they laughed and groaned that their sucesses and mistakes, fortunes and mis fortunes. He asked she to close her eyes and  brought out a marble and placed it in her hands. It read. "BELIEVE". Remembered her mum's quote:"The one thing that makes ever chance or decision worth it,losing or winning, is to Believe, for it has a way of molding you for the better". Tears formed in her eyes. Mark held her hands tight, kissing her hair and pulling her to his chest, basking in their love as the sun sets.
