Deluge Of Misfortune (continued)

Sterling had no idea that his homecoming was going to be met with greed and the inconsistencies as to how the hell half of his inheritance was now gone. He clenched his fists until his finger nails dug deep into his skin. His absence from Kentucky for the past two years had given ample opportunity for deceit and betrayal by none other, than his half brother Clint. Sterling had been lied too. He always knew the scoundrel was up to no good. Oh yea, Clint could put on the charm all right, the dog had mislead his whole family.
Sterling wiped the back of his hand across his forehead, then looked down at the fresh blood that had escaped from the gash he encountered at the Cross - Inn. The night had led him to a another dramatic event in which he couldn't control his emotions, nor have any consideration for anyone else's for that matter. He knew full well he had to get full control of his frustrations. He needed to get a clear head if he had any chance of getting back what belonged to him. After all, it was the house he had grown up in, he was the rightful owner to half of it. He was by no means greedy, but he'd be damned if they thought they could get away with it.
It was the home he had grown up in and he never forgot the comfort that it had given him.
But after his Mother had died, nothing was ever the same again. It was like the warmth had left with her. The cold had certainly followed Sterling and for a long time he couldn't get over his loss. He had needed to run from it all, wanted to forget and in doing so, cursed the world, cursed God for stealing her away from him. Yes he had returned, but was this latest scandal worth fighting for, or would it in the end take his sanity.
To be continued...….
