Haunted Lighthouse Of Presque

I saw a ghost last year up north in Presque, Michigan. I have a cottage in Alpena on Long Lake, and Presque is about half an hour away from Alpena. We always go to the haunted lighthouse at night, and walk the trail from the harbor to the lighthouse.

The gate across the road is locked at night, so we have to walk on the trail. The lighthouse is called "Old Presque lighthouse." It has been featured on paranormal TV shows, and a lot of people have gone there to document the paranormal activity that takes place.

One time last Summer I went there with my sister along with my friends Amy and Danielle. When we were walking up to the lighthouse, my sister and I both saw a man standing in the window of the lighthouse! It was really scary, but the thing that scared me the most was when we all sat on the bench overlooking Lake Huron, and we all heard the sound of a door being slammed really loud. We all freaked out and ran all the way back to the harbor.

The lighthouse keeper who lived there passed away, and a bigger lighthouse was built farther away.

After he died, the light would keep coming on and it was messing up the ships that were coming in from sea. So they took out all of the electrical equipment including the light, and locked the lighthouse so nobody could get inside, but the light still comes on sometimes and nobody can explain it. It still comes on every once in a while and it's really spooky!

The Old Presque Lighthouse was active between 1840 and 1871 before the harsh weather got the best of it, and it was closed down, and a much larger lighthouse was built about two miles away. That lighthouse is also believed to be haunted by its former occupants too.
