In fondest memory.

Her first attempt to bring it to life, failed at the rainbows end
she looked down, beside her feet, ......still,
Was her tiny little friend
How does a girl with no degree, or magic wand
command
To bring to life, the lifeless, this little grain of sand,
they spoke about creation as if I could do it too, transform
A tiny pebble stone, into something new
I know about magicians
And gods great gift of light, I pray but nothing
Happens
I'm holding on so tight
Maybe I was asking to much of life, and could not understand
The significance of simplicity, that lay within
My hand
The source of something greater, the gift of love I held inside
To save a tiny pebble stone, from the rushing of the tide,
She took it home that evening, and sat it beside her bed, reciting prayers
Like little songs, pretty
Inside her head
That night she did not wake up, she slept the whole night through
Woken by a little bird
who sung the sweetest tune
She looked out at her garden, where pebbles lay from times before
Under her breath she muttered, one two three and four
She knelt down at her
Bedside, and opened up the draw, took out a photograph, and said a prayer once more
Nothing happened straight away, but in time she came to see
She found me in that moment, the pebble stone from the sea
She opened up a letter with tears upon her tiny face, the look of sadness
Within delight
That time could not erase,
The letter read, MY DARLING, DON'T YOU FEAR, NOW THAT I HAVE GONE, A TINY STONE AMONGST THE SHORE
IN YOUR HEART I STILL
BELONG
And like the waves of the ocean, that always kiss the shore
she held that pebble within her hand, and prayed to god once more
ββββββshe said DEAR LORD I FOUND HER, IN MY HEART SHE'LL ALWAYS BE, SAFE AND KEPT BESIDE MY BED
IN FONDEST MEMORY.
