sleeping with him

As i lay,
Tangled in your arms and legs,
I realized how,
Light it felt to have you,
How calm and safe I felt,
How deeply in love I felt,
To feel you breathing on my neck,
Is a feeling I could never put into words,
the light beat of your heart,
is like a sweet lullaby,
As you lie Sound asleep,
I glance upon your angelic face,
Tracing my finger along your cupids bow,
And down the arch of your nose,
I run my fingers ever so gently through your hair,
And I realize,
All I ever wanted was to wrap myself around you,
To make you know you are needed,
And kiss all over your beautiful soul,
To mend all of your deepest wounds.
As you do for me without even knowing.

I love the gentle, tender, touchingly poignant approach women seem to take when writing erotica or romantic poetry.
For you, it seems, it's all about the metaphysical bond and the emotion attached.
For the majority of men, it's primarily carnal and much more physical.
While a man's view is quite direct and visceral, a woman's is more... soft and subtle.
Beautifully penned, Jaelyn. Whomever "He" is, he's a very lucky man to have you.

thank you very much Dean <3 and i have noticed the difference between the way men and woman write about romance. But like most of my poems, they're about the same man whom i am in love with. Even though me and him are no longer together. This piece was me thinking back to a peaceful place in my life.
I'm sorry to hear you're no longer together, Jaelyn.
I believe we get the chance at just one "BIG" love in our lives, one we will never forget no matter how hard we try.
I lost mine a few of years ago—after 22 years of marriage.
I just keep telling myself, "Hey, man...it's her loss not yours."
But I still wonder sometimes...

its alright, sometimes you have to lose something to realize that something better is coming. my mom always tells me that if it left than it was never for me.
i am sorry for you having to go through that. You must not blame yourself for the choices of others.
Same to you, and thanks, that's nice to hear someone say.
All the best,
~Dean
