The Unknown Princess
Once upon a time, lived an average looking princess who had nothing special. She didn't wear big fancy dresses, colorful clothes, or jewelry. She wore black and sad colors.
People said she grieved, mourned all day when that was not the case, not her reason, not her story. She talked very little, barely went outside and always wore clothes to cover every inch of her body.
Sometimes, at night, if you're silent enough, you can hear her peaceful sobs. She would cry herself to sleep and no one ever knew why she was so saddened. No one cared to know.
Princes from great kingdoms wouldn't fight for her, she wasn't one people would fight for they said. And one day, peeking from her window, we could see her, the princess, looking up at the sky. As she reached for the sunlight to kiss her thin skin, we could see tons of dark red cuts all over her arms. Grey clouds came covering the sun and her hand fell down onto the bottom of the window, it didn't rain that day, but she made it seem as if it would. She looked down into the void as if all hopes were gone and the sun would never come again. Silently, as always, she sighed and went back inside, she looked out the window only on the brightess of days.
Her name isn't important to this story. Years past, the wild grew and started swallowing whole the kingdom, houses became abandoned.
But i, i waited to see her look out that window again, i waited for her to be ready to leave this deserted palace. She didn't know me, and i didn't know her, but it didn't matter, i was ready to fight for her.
And then the day came, awful screams came from the bottom of her tower, crowds of people surrounding a figure which i tried to see. Pushing people out of the way as quickly as i could-- and there she was, her body crushed against the solid rock streets, her scarred skin still bleeding, she looked so peaceful, so at ease.
It seemed as if all her pain had faded and she was finally where she wanted to be, with the sun, with the stars, somewhere in the sky.
