They Slipped under the sands of Time And took their Town with Them
Well friends, Today I went to Chad's Ford Bandy wine River Museum. A sad discovery, Hank restaurant has changed hands, Brandy Wine Art Gallery has closed their doors.Â
Every time I was in Chad's Ford , i would stop in the Gallery and have a sit down Chat with Barbra Moore. I would show her my designs for my pumpkin carvings, for the Chad's for great Pumpkin Carve Event put on by the Chad's Ford Historical Society( I have been compete in for the last 10 years). I would also show her designs for an up coming painting i would be working on. Since the deaths Andrew Wyeth,Ann Wyeth McCoy, Paul Scarborough,George Weymouth; It seem the whole tapestry has been unraveling( as if some was pulling it's thread). When i started visiting 10 years ago all these people I converts with, and patronizes the following businesses ,which now have closed their door after being a part of the Wyeth area . For me it started with the Chad Ford Tavern,Corner store use to be a Wawa for years(catty corner to Hanks) Now The Chads Ford Art Gallery and Hanks Restaurant. So it seems to me the people who I knew and their businesses that were a part of Andrew Wyeth's world, like him have slipped under the sands of time. Written by Stephen J. Vattimo July,16,2017
