Burnt Out

I haven’t had a real job in 11 years. I work when I want and have always done well, that was until now! The economy sucks, gas is over 5 bucks a gallon and the interest rates are climbing…
Right now it really does suck to be a traveling car salesman! So the last 3 months I have just given-up, I threw the towel in and called it quits. I got tired and fed up of battling good folks to spend money, money they don’t have!
My girlfriend has been super supportive as she makes a really good living and her pay alone provides comfort. The longer I wait to grab an opportunity the more I contemplate is money or my time even worth it?
What is the purpose, when we all have what we need and most of what we desire. Thoughts of going back to college cross paths with reconsidering the military or possibly getting a CDL?
I’m not sure where this next phase is supposed to take me but I do know; I ABSOLUTELY REFUSE TO DO SOMETHING THAT DOESN’T MAKE ME HAPPY!

When you have the opportunity to better your life, go for it! But don't spend too long deciding though, as kind and generous as your girlfriend is ( well, she sounds it from what you say here) she may get to feel resentful. I am sure you have it all under control, though, and I wish you all the success in the world x
Great advice Tina and I have had similar thoughts. I’ve never felt more successful as I have spent so much time with my Son, Girlfriend, dogs and family. I have voiced to her I feel guilty that shes the only one working but she reminds me when I was we accomplished a lot to allow us to be comfortable and she has fueled this break lol… She has made comments suggesting I take longer or as much time as I want… There’s a certain level of accomplishment that comes with feeling like a good provider and I’ve always felt I had to have the validation so I think I’m learning a valuable life lesson… time is most valuable but working is a necessary entity, I just feel we all have a right to do something we like and provide .Â
You and your girlfriend seem like a great team, Rob. That's awesome. I am so happy that you have met a lovely person to share your life with. Well, my friend, decide where you want to go in life and go for it! This is your time x
The patience paid off , I got a great opportunity working for a contractor.
