For Those Who Wait

PoetessDarkly's Wisteria Challenge

For Those Who Wait

Hopeless it would seem to the outward eye
How one could guard his devotion till the day he dies
And I am alone because I understand
The veracious meaning of love, the sacrifice it demands
When sensation is starved its ephemeral kiss
And stoic eyes are opened to forever live
And long I have languished, but only for you
Beyond the lilac vines, delineated blue
On the vaseless flower of my heart
The very one I chase though never grasp
And yet I run to retouch your clandestine hues
Upon the canvas of life, immortalised in bloom
For those who wait have already begun
To reclaim the tender dream of eternal love

Thank you so much Lisa! Tried to capture the symbolic meaning of the wisteria. These challenges are interesting, usually I would torture myself when writing due to the freedom of time, but now I give myself an hour or less and I feel the same message is being delivered, albeit with less words.

lovely to read and find someone who understands. Genuinely felt this in my soul and would love to share it with others.Β

Simply stunning! A brilliant piece of work. β€œthe veracious meaning of love, the sacrifices it demands…”
Here, you said a thousand words, I think you were having a conversation with the Self. BΒ

HOW... did I miss this?? I remember the days of poem challenges so fondly. Ian this is stunning... those above have left me little left to say except I agree with every comment and then some x

Thank you so much Marion. I decided months before the challenges not to write anymore. Then Simon messaged me to take part and I'm glad I did so. It was fun, and when you have a deadline of sorts, it brings something different out of you.Β
