Ghosts

Ghosts

In noetic shades of noir
This voyeur traipses at your helm
As the sun uplifts the shadow from stone
And I slit the sky to steal your stars
Frame by frame, equidistant to another realm

And in reveries I would die
On the miracle hour of embryonic spring
With open wrists as you appear along my side
Just as the veil is tearing thin

For I fear all I have ever loved
Is lost inside another world
And I've been waiting ever since
For the day of your return

Sweet effervescent maiden
And light amid my misery
The holy queen I hail in sin
From blessed gardens of the young and free

I peeled the petals
And watched the blood drip off
To summon your soul inside of me
I confessed my regrets
And climbed this anfractuous cross
Only to die within a dream

I have wandered in wonderland
But never crossed the border to your heart
To unravel the enigma inside of me
I have followed the thunder
But lightning has never struck
To unlock the bolt beneath its scar

And the trill in my heart
Resembles the tide
As I stand upon its edge
Wading through sand
While toes tremble to the line
Where the shore becomes nothingΒ
But whispers inside a shell

No eave I'm under
As a chill cuts through my spine
And feel your quintessence haunt
But your impalpable ghost
Slips through the essence of time
And mine I fear is borrowed
As much as it is bought

Are you still where I've waited for all these years
Or have you abandoned my only cause
The phantom who fades out beyond the pier
Where sadness and I, will gravely reside
Until I have withered and gone

It would be a tragedy to lose your words. Such feeling is so rare. I truly love your poetry and would mourn the loss.

Ghosts, of your past, need not taunt, or haunt, but, can flaunt their majestic overtures to the bygone textures, of the light fandango. When, life encapsulates their dreams, and your hope, to bring a flourish to the metabolic consumptive energies, through the influence of learned respect, to wisest words.... never forgotten.
On the progressive path, to incorporated ritualization, of magical mystic, as well as celebratory diversity, you discover more, than even belief. To, better define worldly concerns, and to grow. And, to flow in time and space with ease, deliberating the cosmic essentials, of meaningful transformations. Constructing the vibrancy, and, variety, of wondrous mechanisms bringing rich rewards from expenditures, of the physical and spiritual. Component features, of successful enterprise. As well as the " viscous " tensile gravity, beyond structural integrity, and flexibility. Emphasized, to constantly effect " process ", and evolutionary swells.
Neo-classical way, I suggest, of leaving no doubt. " About Time." And, our place within, it. Spacious extravagant zest creating exploratory, " adventurous, " inventive causation and calibration. Truly remonstrating. A sparkling piece.Β  :)Β

You, speak highly, of intensity, created by adherence to " mechanics " of connective tribute. Paying service, and homage, to spell-binding proclamations divulged. Through experience, and, relations. From, loving gratuities. And, consistent attentive manifestations of " homo-generous " cleansing, and purifying, " apparitions. " Spirit.
Stating legitimate " partizan " obligation, and trade, with productive festive context. A valued journey, in retrospect.
To breathe action into the " living " image....far more than rhetorical, " cartography " of the transient one-dimensional !Β  :) Simply, conveying idealist principles, by way of warmed conjecture, or, caring " debate, " on worthy stimuli, raising sensation, and, promoting emotional investments. Beyond, natural morphology. Wonderful to know. And, to realize. :)

Being Me

And I slit the sky to steal your stars

Wow!!Β

I peeled the petals

And watched the blood drip off

I am speechless

Only to die within a dream

I love that line......................Β  And

I have wandered in wonderland

But never crossed the border to your heart

I have quoted those lines but the whole poem is just Amazing. You really are an outstanding poet, Ian, and it is both a pleasure and a privilege to be able to read your work on here x
